Aston DB7 Vantage manual pedal box install
I plan on installing a DB7 Manual Pedal box/vacuum servo/master cylinder in my 1986 v12.
Seems straight forward, just a couple of short lengths of custom brake lines required.
ive been using a Jaguar Specialties converted pedal box for a few years without issue but came across a DB7 vantage setup that I wanted to try. The brake master and reservoir takes up less room. Wish me luck, haven't seen anyone try this yet, seems simple enough as the 1996 xjs used the same bits.

Greg,
All these brake parts are originally Jaguar. Aston used the Jaguar setup as they did with front subframes etc. Anecdotally, I heard that they didn't want to have an ongoing dependency on Jaguar, so stocks were produced at the outset to cover production and ongoing parts for the DB7. Hence why you can still get some "Aston" parts even through Jaguar ones are NLA.
So the RHD Aston parts fit UK Jaguars. Do you mean, if the late Teves IV-type reservoir will fit a pre-ABS XJ-S Master Cylinder, or a Teves II Actuator Unit? The issue might be how the fluid feed works from the original reservoir on a Teves II system to the accumulator pump?

Thanks for the skinny. I was wondering if that triangular reservoir (I did not know it was from a Teves system) would actually fit onto a pre ABS master cylinder, not foulf the bracing strut, and allow the bonnet to close. If it would, it would greatly simplify that corner of the bonnet!

The triangular reservoir was one of the reasons this swap appealed to me.
the MC is totally different from what was originally on my 1986, the reservoir will not fit the earlier style.
this one does not extend beyond the brace as the original does. It will
also require custom bent lines to connect from MC to the connections to the main lines.

1995/1996 xjs and some years XK8 used the same master and booster though, probably easier to find if piecing together separately. You would need the triangular reservoir though, that can be bought separately. Best bet is to find an entire assembly like I did. Check ebay, ther ris a seller that has a lot of DB7 parts
