Default Blue Goose, do I .......I know I want to.

Most of you don't know me, some will since I have been around these parts a while.(Lots of you will know the car and the work "Paulyling" & I did on it)

Hummimg and harrring, should I or shouldn't I ? This would look like a great pair in my shed.
Tossing up the idea as she has been offered to me at a price I find hard to walk away from. I will have a space for one more hobby car once I get the bikes etc in. I know the car well and know exactly what it needs after a 15+ month lay off.
And I have Grant Frances at the other end of the bat phone just in case, I have him on fast dial

Great color! Looks like a decent example. XJSs are fabulous cars, a real dream to drive. Once fully sorted, that is.

Buy it !

Asking this crowd "should I buy another Jag" is like asking a bunch of kids at a party "Who wants Ice Cream"!!!

That is the thing Doug, We had it fully sorted 18 months ago. I did laps in it at a track day. I know it is a good car.

Just convincing myself to give away the coin. It might push back a hoist in the shed. short term.

I absolutely love that silver XJ6/12 series II. That is a superb colour. Obviously buy the XJS, in a few years time as you sweep through a glorious set of high-speed curves in it, you will not be saying to yourself "If only I had another 3000 dollars instead of this!

It will ring, I still have to get my shed built. Should be done in about 3 weeks.

Thanks Greg, it's a series 1 XJ6. It is a Mercedes Silver. All mechanicals fully rebuilt over the last 4 years.
We just moved to the bottom of these hills, 100's of km's of great driving & riding roads literally out the back door.

Doug,

Either the car or Paul marking their territory.

Makes you wonder either way.

Just got off the phone to "Paulyling". Deal done.
Timing works out perfect, he is flying out this week to work on a rig for a month. By the time he gets home the sale of our Brisbane house will be settled and my shed will be up so I should have the Goose in my hands (shed) in about 5 or 6 weeks.
It hasn't been started in about 15-18 months and the IRS is out but easy stuff to get sorted quickly.

Her indoors said to me last night, " I knew you were going to buy that car as soon as Paul offered it to you months ago".
Was it that obvious it was the elusive V12 Grant Francis always said I was destined to own?

Finally got her home today. Fired up first time after at least 15 months of not being started.
IRS needs attention, only put it back in to tow her home. Then a quick wash to get 15 months of dust off.

As soon as the electrician has finished powering the shed I will take it out again and rebuild the calipers etc.

Well bloody done.

What is the DOUBT I sense Clarke.

Of course it fired right up, its a Jaguar, AND most importantly a V12.

The ONLY combination.

I will take my ticker tablet with a Cold Beer in celebration, might fire me right up, HAHA.

Sneeky Grant Francis, I wounder if Paul ever found this note in 5 years of ownership?
I found it 15 minutes after she was off the tilt tray....."Hawke Eye Clarkie" they call me at work. I don't miss much.

Paul asked if I was going to still call her the "Blue Goose". Blue goose is long gone, just known as the Jaguar that was known as the "Blue Goose" now.

Elinor, life in general has been keeping me away from the XJ6 playroom (and a well sorted XJ6 that has had no problems for two years). A move after 25 years in one house took some sorting, you wouldn't believe what I had stashed in that 6 x 6 garage.
Now time to enjoy driving the XJ and sort the XJS.
