The passenger side carpet, underneath the seat was disintegrating and stinking and spreading the smell to the wool carpet in the car.
I am going to order up a new carpet from Aldridge's, Its already been priced up.
I did check the carpet, but I just lifted up the front part and it was dry and looked good. It was the rear section, underneath. The top part looks ok as you can see in the pics.

There is a very strong smell of mould from the car, that fusty smell.
At first I thought it was the seats and then the carpet, but now I think its coming from the heater vents, I will tell you why.
I have cleaned all the seats twice with soapy water and treated them, the door cards and the dash to a leather clean.
We went for a spin after it soaked in and at first when we got back into the house, our clothes smelled fine, now 30mins later, its back.
The thing is, the front of our clothes smell worse than the back, the only thing to be near them was vented air (it reached the dizzy heights of 14 degrees today in Glasgow)

Air is pulled into the cabin thru openings in the wiper motor bucket.
Over time rodents can get up in there and build extensive nests or lots of dirt residue build up in the bottom of the wiper motor 'bucket.' Might be worth pulling the wiper arms off and removing the wiper motor to give everything in there a very good cleaning.
NOTE: The openings go way in to each side so you will need a long vacuum extension.
