Further to my thread on trying to recommission my friend's 1996 6.0 Marelli car, can anyone confirm if I should be able to hear the injectors ticking if I fully open the throttle capstan with the ignition turned on? I recall reading that this technique works on Lucas cars, but I don't know if it also applies to the Marelli cars, and particularly the 6 litre ones?

I may be wrong, but I think the injectors are triggered by the CPS. If so, the engine would have to be cranking to hear them.
