More like 1982-1992.
When the HE engine was introduced some cosmetic changes were also included....different bumpers and different interior trim most obviously. This was mid-1981 calendar year....1982 model year in the USA
Nothing changed significantly until the 'facelift' model came out...1992 model year in the USA
I dunno what a 'Rogue Edition' is. In the 90s Jaguar jumped on the 'special edition' bandwagon with some special appearance packages. I think there was a "LeMans" and and "Classic" and a couple others....but "Rogue" isn't ringing a bell. Others will chime in.
Oh... it just hit me. You probably mean "Rouge Edition" . It was another appearance package with lotsa red stuff! Someone will come along with the specifics.

Huh, no wonder my '88 has the metal sills and seat heaters, but not the active seatbelts - built right in the middle.
Active seatbelts give me the creeps anyway, and for my money, pre-facelift is the way to go. The car just looks better with the quad sealed beam headlamps, in my opinion. It just looks... right.

hi, i was like the thread starter porsche 944 . now a 1989 XJS 5.3 V12 convert love it . has more bells and gagets than i know what to do with. its better than caddys more smiles per mile and thumbs up. if it where a corvette people dont look twice. kids and adults like the car. i drove mine home from graigs-list. grand-kid loved top down fell asleep 60s heater plus seat heat lumbar great ride smooth speed more like float along. my point is try one lifes to short not to drive great cars!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys, here's a car I found online. Now, I'm trying to get an idea if this car is worth the asking price based on what the car needs fixed, the condition of the body, and the apparently low mileage it has. Thoughts?

Oof, yeah. That's pretty aggressive, and the fact that it's been sitting would at least deter me.
right around the 5k mark is where I started to see the best balance of affordability and drivability, but your mileage may vary.

I would be concerned about the rust. It is not uncommon for the trailing arm mount to break away from the body, and that looks like where the rust is. If you have welding skills, or are willing to learn to weld, this is not a huge deal, but if you are paying someone else to fix it, it is a huge deal.
