Guys
Can anyone tell me, even better post a photo, of how the outer of the cruise control cable is anchored at the PEDAL END OF THE CABLE. I am about to refit a system and I cannot for the life of me remember. It might be at the firewall hole; or somewhere else inside, as the throttle cable itself is!
Right Hand drive, that is.
Thanks
Greg

Not sure if a left hand drive photo will be helpful, but here is a photo of where it (black with yellow tape) exits the engine bay, and also how it is routed through a bracket/grommet:
The throttle cable and the cruise are both attached to the pedal. They go through the panel next to the pedal assembly(as shown in previous post) I assume RHD is the same just on the other side of the car. I had it all apart when I swapped to manual(cant remember why I had this apart)

Thanks, but my problem is not the routing, but where precisely the outer part of the bowden cable is anchored to the bodywork.
If we are talking about the passage of the bowden (cable) to the pedal, then in my case there is a passage in the square cover (fixed with screws) and the bowden is snapped (it has a plastic end at the end) in this passage. It continues to the gas pedal.
See picture (5.3 & 6.0L). I assume RHD and LHD will be similar (I have LHD).
And if I remember correctly, the plastic end can only be snapped off non-destructively from the gas pedal side. It is necessary to release the other end of the cable, unscrew the screws of the passage, get to the bowden from below and press the two beaks.

Roman many thanks.I did a bit of googling and Warrjon, late of this Parish, had some snaps on his blog. The RHD is simpler than the LHD but the principle you outlined is the same, I think. Here is a photo of his cable:
and here it is stepped and clicked into the firewall, which provides the anchoring:
SO that is a problem solved; now I just have to find my cable in my barn!
