Default Defeating the anti-theft device

With an annoying amount of frequency, the anti-theft steering lock mechanism is not letting me turn the ignition key...sometimes I have to fiddle with the wheel and key for 15 minutes. Annoying to say the least.

Today I took the facia pieces of to see what I was dealing with. I don't even know where to start with disconnecting the mechanical link between the steering column and ignition (see photos).

I went thru my archives of the part catalog (from Cpt. Jag's Cathouse) but could not find a view of this assembly.

Does anyone have documentation they could share on how this thing is put together?

Thanks,
John

Hi John

I can't help but I feel your Pain!

I've spent forever trying to defeat the Car immobilizer on my Ford Transit 'Cherry Picker' No Lights on the 'Dash' but if I manage to Start her with a Screwdriver, I may not be able to turn the Engine OFF!

The immobilizer is buried behind the Dash and I'd have to take it all to bits to find it

Lawn Mower Blade Drive Shaft has also Snapped off and I can't get another one in the UK!

I'm Blaming the Lunar Eclipse!
