DIY ABS valve block tester...
Hey guys,
as an owner of an ABS V12, I don't like the idea of not being able to access the unit easily and quickly in case of usual issues. So for the case that my brakes do go haywire, I wanted to make a kind of external tester. One where I don't need the engine tombe running. One where I can purposely activate individual solenoids and see which ones actuall work and, in case of a sticking valve, can relieve the pressure fro, that line without cracking a bleed nipple...
So I built this:
Basically it has 4 AA batteries, an on/off switch, 6 push buttons and a Volvo plug
Every button on the body is a valve in the block. Black is the IN solenoid. Red the OUT. Top left, middle is rear, bottom is rear. Basically the same order they are on the valve block.
The 6V are more than enough to test with. It should even help bleeding the brakes and being able tomflush the ABS block. Aod with determining which brake is trouble some and is also just a little bit of 'I wanted to so I did' kit

Yeah. You get a bit paranoid in the end. The ABS isn't that bad. Just needs it TLC. I also plan on sticking up in used units and that should help me test them quickly for function...
