Default Electric fan install

In the process of installing a 16" Derale Tornado fan. I was thinking about just running to a pigtail on the RH fuse box, but I discovered that the panel box diagram doesn't look anything like what's there - see pics. I think I can still probably do a pigtail, but thought i'd get as much info and tips as.possible before continuing.

Not entirely sure if I understand. But, if you remove that rectangular black plastic cover you'll find a bunch more fuses

Cheers

Getting wires into the cabin isn't the easiest thing on these cars. Not sure how you're planning to configure your wiring or how you want to trigger the fan but you can probably find everything you need in the engine bay. Constant voltage, switched voltage, ground, and a temperature switch.

Cheers

I was expected something more open like the L H side... All good if that's what it's supposed to look like.

I was gonna check those 30A to see if they were switched or constant. If switched, then pigtail cause the fan needs a 30A. It'll run off an NPT plug, if there is such a thing on the Jag otherwise a temp probe by the radiator inlet. I also was going to wire a switched override to the AC which you can use to manually override the probe by turning on the AC. Didn't really want to start splicing into things if at all possible.

Nice heavy guage wire straight off the firewall positive post (with inline fuse) and switching via existing fan relay would negate the need to go inside the cab unless looking for a manual override.

One of these things, perchance?

Or maybe this thing here? Gonna have to break out the test gear...

That's them. One positive each side of bell housing along with a couple of slightly smaller ground posts.

As Baxtor said, I ran a 12v from the firewall post (last pic in your photos) to an aftermarket fuse box, and from there to a high amperage tolerant relay too start the fan. As Grant explained to me, I trigger the relay with the OEM water pump inlet switch.
I found that in traffic the fan cycled on and off too much so i replaced the OEM switch with one that comes on at 88C and off at 85C, thus ensuring the fan did not keep cutting in and out with surges of cooler then hotter water as the car moved a bit in traffic.

Blue wire is feed from firewall post

70 amp Relay above radiator, 12v from the fuse box, triggered by the water pump inlet switch. OEM fan wired to be on with the aircon compressor.
