Friends.
I dealt with the banging from the engine compartment, the two braces from the firewall to the wings are to blame. The passage is larger than the screw, and no matter how much I tighten it, the screw moves and bangs in the hole when going over bumps. See picture 1.




Second thing, there is a brace attached to the wings, but there are 2 more welded nuts that look like a preparation for the cross brace between the wings. But I couldn't find anywhere if it even existed. Maybe it would help reinforce the engine compartment.

i think the bolts of the reinforcment braces have normal nuts, not welded in. This might explain? Also, in second photo, the hole for the reinforcement brace seems to be the big hole on the left.

I suggest that you replace those rubbishy screw with a nut and bolt of a size that fits snugly into the wing hole. Do the same with the scuttle fixings too.

 

The coolant header tank is affixed via those additional captive nuts on certain cars. See pic.

Thanks. The problem is not on the wings, here the nut is welded firmly, the problem is on the sheet metal, where the VIN is also. Yes, I will have to find a way to fit the bolt to the hole. Of course, the solution is a high-quality steel screw of the same size as the hole. BUT this is where the air pipes to the brake booster go. There is not much extra space here. It would probably be ideal to find (make) an O-ring that fits exactly into the sheet metal and has the same inner diameter as the screw. The screw must have a countersunk head, because the recess in the bonnet rests on it.

 

Doesn’t the cross bar use a bolt on one end, and screw head on the other? Only one end has the recessed/chamfered hole for the screw. Maybe your ends are swapped? Is say this because it looks like it is sticking up.
