Default facelift 4.0 backdate?

Hi guys. Im jumping back into an XJS, Im picking up a facelift car and I want to go with quad headlights. Will a set from any early model fit? Plug and play? Or do I have to do some rewiring? What parts do I have to make sure I get?

SNG Barratt sells a kit. I bought it almost 10 years ago and have been very happy with it. That’s going to be your best bet.

Thanks but before I go that route, I found an older parts car that still has its headlight units intact... would those work?

I'm going to say that it should be a direct fit, but it would certainly help to know how far back it came from. If you posted a pic, that would be great too.

You will probably need to construct harness for the two lights. I believe the plug you have for your current headlight only lights up one bulb, now you'll have two and I don't believe you'll be able to use the old wiring.

You can tap into the wires. Black is ground. Blue/white is high beam, Blue/Red is low beam and I can't remember what the daytime driving, or city light wire is attached to. But that's going to be the challenge in making this work.

Im going to go look at it soon. If the wiring is not up to my liking... the SNG Barratt kit will do.

What are you doing with the old headlights? I'm assuming they are the big single peice? one of mine has a bullet hole in it so I need replacements.

mine are patina’d and have been buffed out already so I assume that the light yellowing is internal. Otherwise fully functional and water tight. Im sure you could make better use of them since I doubt my car will ever be at a collectors knitpick fest. Plus Ill be able to recoup any money spent on replacement lights. Lemme know
