Found a Black 1994 XJS-12 coupe at an estate sale
I was not looking to purchase another Jaguar.I already own a 1996 black convertible celebration with 11.427 miles original miles on it
My good friend Scott sent me a link to an estate sale. The owner, a 70-year lady just passed away and this car was her baby. The jaguar was sitting there with 9,815 original miles on it ( have the carfax)
So I bought it.
I have no room for it and the wife is very upset about it, but its here
Gonna take lots of diplomacy and flowers to keep that one!
I will take some pictures in the next few days once I have the car detailed
Looks like it needs a smog pump and a good detailing
Tires have 200 miles on them, off-white seats are immaculate, new injectors and headliner were recently installed

In a nice way, through out the... "...how many shoes and hand bags do you own?, and are they going to be worth more money in the future than they are now? and do they make you happy?" That usually doesn't work but it gets the point across and back to stasis for me. I've haven't had to use the "One wife, Many cars" refrain yet, but I have it ready... and I consider it the nuclear option.
I know that no-one shouldn't dole out marital advise over the internet but I assure you it's worth every penny you paid for it.

Nice find, Terry! Can't wait to see more pics.
Cars, especially Jaguars, are more passive aggressive.

The car needs to be detailed, so I'm gonna do it my self! Bought a new Porter cable buffer /polisher, and some McGuire products, just need to purchase the correct pads, lots of pads for sale on the internet to choose from and detailing a black car is not that simple. I also wanna detail the engine and I may need some suggestion here. Anyone familiar with detailing an engine? I like everything to be spotless, and all metal parts to shine.
I welcome your tips and suggestions.

If you’ve never buffed a car, put masking tape on all the edges. It’s incredibly easy to buff through the clear coat. That’ll be a heartbreaker if you get it wrong.
The engine is very hard to make look awesome without removing and plating the parts. There are some beautiful engine bays out there, but most have had the ni-cad redone. With the age these cars have it’s not just dirt under the hood, it’s oxidation. Plating isn’t cheap, so for just a quick spruce up, acid based aluminum cleaners will actually shine up many oxidized metals. http://a.co/axEAU4i Is what used. This product will scar paint even when diluted, so be careful. Caswell plating makes at-home kits for ni-cad. But really who cares, just enjoy the car.

Have fun as swirl free black paint is a tough thing to achieve. There used to be a compound made in the seventies called Liquid Ebony. It was some of the best buffing/polishing compound I ever used. Sadly I don't believe they make it anymore. It would polish black, as slick as anything I ever saw, and was great on oxidized/faded paint. Great Stuff.

When I bought the car the paint was dull and dirty with few parking scuffs and scratches I was a bit worried thinking I may have to have it repainted. I then spent about 10 hours on the paint alone, well I m not expert and wanted to take my time. I used a light to medium compound, then polish and waxed the car twice, that's right! I cleaned up the interior using Lexol and other products, brought the car to RMB auto in North Hollywood a very reputable Jag only specialist. Changed the oil and check all fluids, Richard went through it and voila
The car belonged to an older lady who just passed on. She herself inherited the car from her deceased husband loved and cherished that car and named her Laura, so the cars name is Laura. I have every receipt since new The headliner has been replaced, AC units sparkplugs wires and other wires, new tires etc But I never get to drive it....sad
I have a 1996 Jaguar XJS convertible and I never get to drive that one either. I 've been touring for the last 8 years. and
