Default Fuel tank cleaning

I was wondering if it is possible to clean the fuel tank without removing it from the car. Also is there enough room to inspect the inside with the sender unit out? Suggestions, input much appreciated.

Sender out, assuming the pre intank pump system, you can see quite a bit of the tank bottom. If it looks clean and rubbish free, which it may well, leave well alone, unless you are worried about external rust on the tank bottom. If you are, pull out the tank, which is not that hard on a coupe, sort out the tank, treat any rust on the bodywork underneath it, and replace the tank on a 1/4 inch sheet of neoprene, not foam of any sort.
I got my tank external bottom covered by the local radiator guy with a coating of radiator solder. This has worked brilliantly.

The pic shows it being painted after the coating. Then renew all the flexibles with new top notch California rated fuel hose, and you will be good for many many years!
