Glass run channel
As per the usual suppliers of Jag parts in the US, Part #BBC - 6292 is NLA.
I am hoping that someone on this forum will be able to help me find a source for this item. New or used. (Members from UK,Europe or Australia????)
Has anyone found a substitute glass run channel? If so, do you have a supplier or a part number.
Does anyone know the dimensions of said glass run channel?
This is the only part I need to finish the body seals portion of the reassembly.

Maybe these guys can help from their used stock: https://www.welshent.com/XJS-C13016.aspx
When I called them in June looking for an XJS windshield and seal, they said the XJS is the hardest car to get parts for, and they couldn't help me. I heard similar sentiments from other suppiers in the US and UK. Not encouraging.

I tried Welshent, Coventry West, Jagbits, Moss and others to no avail.
I am hoping that forum members overseas may be able to help me locate the Glass Run Channel.
I am going to dismantle another door that I have to get a sample for measurement and try to find something close.
I have been in contact with Restoration Specialities and they have something that's close but I am hesitant to buy because it may not work.
They want the following: Top Width; Bottom Width; Height and the glass thickness to see if they have something that is close.
Given the GM and Ford was involved with Jaguar, I am hoping there will be something on the domestic market that may be a substitute.
I also plan to go junkyard hopping to see if they have something that is close, but I first have to get a sample to walk with.

A quick Google search for "bailey channel" turned up plenty of hits for me. Some must be in your neck of the woods surely.
edit. I just checked and most seem to be Aussie sites but that may be because of my location.

Good question. I will take a look at the glass run channel on my Series 3 and my XJ40 to see if those channels are the same or close.
I tried to remove a sample from the extra XJS door I have but the material is so brittle, it just falls apart when I try to remove it.
My other option is to measure the door frame itself and get something that would work or close to it.

Don't know if these people might be able to help?

I hate to suggest it, but back some years ago, JC Whitney/ Warshawskys had a page or pages in their catalog (yes, that long ago) which set out various sizes of this channel- by width and depth. you would just need your measurements and they would send you how ever many feet you wanted. Maybe theres another more general supplier in your area who could do the same thing?
So it has been 6 months since I have been searching for the door window run channel. BBC 6292
I have spent over $150.00 purchasing 7 sets of run channels all of which seemed to be the correct fit.
Some of them, after installation in the window frame would tighten up on the door glass so it won't go up, others would fit tight on the window frame but not seat on the glass properly so I have a lot of wind noise.
Does anyone have a donor car of which you can remove the old run channels and sell to me?
Has anyone had to replace the run channels? If so, do you have a part number?
Since this item is NLA in the US, Is there anyone in England, Wales, Canada, Australia New Zealand or anywhere in Europe who can locate a pair of aftermarket glass run channels for a 1985 XJS?
I will pay "PREMIUM" prices for this item, if they are the correct fit.

Did mine last weekend. Got it from Clarke Rubber here in Australia, but they do not deliver overseas. There must be someone in your area that sells this stuff.
This is the dimensions of what I used.
