this a little off topic; pix of a turbo header system with flex joints for expansion and contraction ,form heating an cooling, known to cause cracks in pipes.

kid doing the work 21yrs old, car(Nissan GTR) made 850hp.

in my experiance, most effective N/A scavenger headers have at least 24-26" runner length before merging into collector, then a long outlet pipe 36+". also an H-pipe crossover.

makes for good mid range torque, where it is most usable, and sounds nice.

I'm enjoying these updates. You should start taking orders for headers.

Too right, absolutely lovely and beautifully to look at. CDK, have you an idea of how they will improve things over standard?

Yeah, pre and post dyno runs would be sweet. Bet you could sell a few of these if they bolt on.

I don't know, I will see if I can pick up a running v12 car to do before and after tests on.

These headers in stainless are a crazy amount of work. I vastly underestimated how much different stainless is to work with that regular steel

Whats the welding problem? If the weld is cooling too quick and cracking preheat with MAP gas.

if you think SS is hard to work with, wait till you get to TITAINIUM !

always amazes me is how they make the F1 exhaust pipes all in one length of TItain, without any joints, and all curly cues, just flanges bonded on!

to add to the home made header idea, internal exhaust flow has some disruption in smooth flow at the welded joints, i had to send a pair out, to be EXTRUDE honed ,they came back 90% better on the insides, the guy asked me to do the best possible, money no object.

my inlets are EXTRUDED, very nice internal shape, done with coarse compound, but took out the humps and bumps, smoothed entrance into runners.

I am purging the welds and using really thin .030 308 tig wire. I have a friend who makes headers for a living. And his are absolutely crazy he sandbends them out of stainless.

For my intakes I'm thinking of cutting.the stock ones.up and rewelding them with the ports strait and porting them.

I follow.the work of a guy john Marcella from marcella manifolds and I think.thats what I'm gonna do with my intakes. Can't hurt with the amount of tig stainless practice ill get.

Great work. I am enjoying watching your updates. Are you MIG welding it or TIG welding it. I saw both in your posts.

Good luck

Tig welding for the final welding and mig for the tacking.
I'm relatively new.to tig so it's gonna take a lot of practice
