hey guys while I was poking under my 76 xjs driver side under dash dash, I noticed a vacuum leak and this elbow was broken off this valve, what does this do? And do I need it ? Thanks

 

Almost certainly a vacuum hose for the climate control system, problem going to one of the vacuum solenoids behind the radio

Thanks, Doug, I,m ripping everything out of this car, I dont need, I removed heater valve and bypassed heater core, so the only thing i,m looking to do is to have A/C ( that i have 42 degrees Fahrenheit ) and my dampers to move from front and foot vents to the defogging position. Thank you.
