Just bought a beatiful 88 XJS convertible. runs great, but needs some cosmetic TLC. Does anyone have a clue as to what goes in the headliner just above the rear view mirror? I would think a dome light since it has two leads coming out of it. If so, any idea where one can be purchased? thanks.

 

Yes, that's a dome light. Very fragile ... glass that flips from position to position. No longer available but you should be able to find one online. I'd recommend Graham Hallett graham@grublogger.co.uk . He's found a few things I've needed.

Have you tried Jagbits? They have a ton of stuff but can be pretty pricey. Doing a quick search, they do have dome lights. They're $140 (US).

 

Thanks for the input. you are right. 140 is a bit pricey for a dome light, especially when I am going to have the rag top replaced soon anyway. thanks again. steve
