Default Hose going to ……????

This is the right hand cover of the airfilter housing, the one you remove or open to change the airfilter. The fixed part of the housing, the one attached to the butterfly housing, has a similar rubber elbow attached which is going to the air injection pump. This one however has just this elbow piece. It sucks in air before the airfilter. Does this supposed to have a pipe or other hose attached to it and if so, where does it go to?

Thanks for your help. Oh, 1992 V12 facelift US spec.

I've never seen that before, which proves nothing.

The JLR catalog shows that elbow only for Jaguarsport cars. See this illustration

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic...0NTMzNTA1Mw../

I spent a few minutes searching the catalog for what might a attached to the elbow but came up empty handed. Sometimes more that a few of digging is required, though

Someone here is sure to know

Cheers

My 90 has tubes on both sides directly below that into the wheel well going into the cowl area. I presume these are for brake cooling. They are about the same diameter. If you have them on both sides could it be this?

I think those holes were to prevent resonance/drone at certain speeds. It's a way to change the natural frequency of the intake tract.

Only the right hand side has one, the left one doesn’t.

Left side has the takeoff for the idle air valve too, the right side doesn't.
