Default Hose question for 6.0 owners

I currently have my radiator out for cleaning and putting back the original style shrouds and fans after a PO's butcher job of putting in aftermarket fans. I was noticing a piece of metal pipe cut into the hoses that goes between the crossover pipe and the bottom of the wing mounted expansion tank. This creates a high point that won't let air out of the system, so it doesn't seem original to me; yet the parts book shows this "shepherds crook" shaped pipe.

Can any other 6.0 owners have a look and see if they have the same thing please? I don't trust anything the PO did to this car.

Hi Jagboi

Same on my pre-facelift 1990 'Greg' and 'Grant' call it the 'Question Mark' Hose because of its shape

You can see a not very good pic of it here, on the end of the Hose from the Header Tank

It does sorta look like something a guy...in an attempt to patch things together.... would've pulled out of the bottom drawer of his toolbox, huh?

My '88 has the same thing

Cheers

This is the PO who cut out the rear mufflers in its place spliced together no less than 17 pieces of pipe between the end of the cats and the flange at the front of the over axle pipe, so I trust nothing he has done. Like this nice piece of wiring for both the aftermarket fans. No heat damage there!

Good to know the pipe is OEM though.
