Default Idle Speed 750?

Hello all,

I just replaced my throttle control link bushings and then followed that procedure with the butterfly adjustment. My car idles perfectly, but at about 1000 rpm when warm, in park or neutral, and with the AC off. It idles at about 750 in drive.

Question, should I adjust the idle on the aux air valve to 1000 rpm while in park or neutral, or is it ok as is?

Thanks!

1000 rpm in "P" or "N" is a tad on the high side. Not the end of the world but, still, a little high. If the shift into gear isn't too harsh I wouldn't worry about it.

But, yes, use the adjustment on the AAV to bring the idle down a bit if you want. I'd shoot for about 600-650 rpm in "D"

I make adjustments in "P" or "N" and then drop it into gear to see how it feels

Cheers
DD

+1 On Dougs post. 1 grand is a bit high, What is the shift like from park into drive if you can describe it a bit more?

Default 750 Idle

The shift is a little jerky. My main question was whether the 750 idle is measured in drive or in park. Sounds like park, so I will ratchet it down a bit. Thanks again.
