I agree with every point Greg.

Under the circumstances, I didn't want to bring up too many negatives and sound like I was trying to steal it from them. The car was owned by the woman's son who died a few years ago. She wants it out of her garage but she seemed reluctant to put a price on it.

When I spoke to the used car guy at the Jag dealer, he said they sold one from the same year a year or two ago. The owners put $5K to $6K into it before they sold it. It sold for $12000. So that would be about right. Purchased for $5K. $5K-$6K into it for parts and restoration. Then it might be a $10K to $12K car.

Let the current owner spend the $$ then wait. If that car is still there at the end of the summer she might get real on the price.

I'm pretty sure that one has been on Craigslist on and off for the last couple years -- at 15K. Nice looking car for sure but 10K is still too rich for me. I hope it finds a good home in time.

They did say it was listed somewhere before. $15K is way too much for this market.

$8K to $10K maybe for a pristine machine that has been brought up to specs mechanically and physically.

This one has not.

Yep I know -- I'm in the same market you are. I'm just over in Eau Claire, WI. That's how I'm pretty sure I've seen this car before on craigslist. I agree it's way too much that's why I haven't looked at it. Now if she is willing to go down to 6K or so I'll be over there with a battery and tools in an hour.

I don't think she'll come dow to $6K until she finds out that that's what it's going to cost to get it back on the road.

We tried a new battery and it didn't want to start. Not sure if it's a fuel or electrical problem.

At this point, I don't really care as I'm not interested in a money pit.
