Germans call vehicles 'Fahrzeuge' which means 'Driving Stuff'. The idea is, that they are meant to be driven. Driving includes making good progress and that is why I favor a car with high mileage rather than low. Sure, low can be tempting, but a 20 year old car with say 100.000 km only did 5.000 km a year. Which, spread over 365 days, isn't much at all...

The Daimler limo uses the same fan as the V12. I have a black fan in mine (both V12 and Daimler DS420) and they cool well. The blades are longer than the white fan and move more air.

Just to be different, I prefer black! At idle it noticeably moves more air, and in my Daimler limo sitting in traffic with both AC systems on that is important to me.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the gearbox will automatically change up out of first over certain speeds. I know it won't go into first unless it's going pretty slowly.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but this is actually a prescribed action in the owner's manual. Look up detonation and kickdown in the index - it'll lead you straight to the page.
