Got big plans lol. Turbo LS!

The v12 does run. So, that's good for anyone looking for a v12 engine for their car. And it's had some work done by the previous owner.

If you're going to argue the merits of the v12 vs LS engine, don't bother. My mind is made up. And it isn't because v12 are strange or hard to work on. I simply want to do this because I do. And yes I've done v8 swaps on cars before. Usually oddball swaps like a Lexus v8 into my Mitsubishi Starion with a Nissan manual trans! Mguar, don't even.

Anyway, I need to see how bad the rust is because I might source a cleaner shell and keep the bumpers and interior from this one. We'll see.

Hello Pirublues

My XJS also came with the body kit, my main rust concern was hidden behind the rear bumper. Had a small amount hidden in front of the rear wheels on both sides, Had nothing behind the front wheels. Then there was the usual rust spots on a 40 year old car.

Enjoy
Steve

This car is a little too rusty (any rust is too much for me lol) for my taste. I'll get it in driving shape then sell it.

I did fix the transmission so it actually goes until gear. Will be installing the trans cooler soon and looking for an xjs radiator.

I’m going sell the car whole or maybe remove the bumpers and sell the body kit and the car separately.

Hopefully I can find another xjs or xj thats rust free.

If anyone is interested in the car or bumpers let me know. I do not want to part the car out or scrap it. I'm sure this rust isn't that bad for some people but for me I'm allergic to rust.

Hello, Pirublues,

I found your thread on the other forum about this car. Did you sell it? I might be interested in the body kit, as it would nicely hide my strong but ugly welding!

Have fun...

Actually I'm keeping the car. Will remove the engine and trans soon as I have a buyer who wants to put the drivetrain in a 50s Ford hotrod.

Cool!

Please tell me it's not getting a horrible LS or similar!

Another one bites the dust. V8 swaps are pointless and a loss. The amount of reinforcing that it takes to keep it from falling apart from all of the brute force will render it useless.

Glad I'm not here for y'all approval! Lol love the purist crowd.

I've LS swapped cars that are more flimsy and obscure than these. It'll be okay.

Some people really do think outside the box, one of my kin saw this one for sale the other day, also had a old school V8 under the bonnet

To me it looked great, couldn't get my misses to bite - but it sold quick as well

Cheers
Steve
