Default Key Light (94 XJS)

I need help reassembling the light in the key on a 94 XJS. I have a new bulb and battery, but cannot figure out how to reassemble. Honestly, it seems like a cheap mess Jaguar used. Pics would be great!

THANKS!

Richard

Thanks for the link, but I tried for hours to get it to work without joy. I finally "created" my own contact for the negative part of the bulb by placing a thin wire on top of the the battery (negative side) which fits in the push button. When I press the button, the wire touches the negative side of the bulb. The light now makes perfect connection every time and is much brighter.

This push bulb arrangement has to be the cheapest and most stupid thing the Jag engineers ever created! There has to be a better way to just get a bulb to consistently light up! I have seen those cheap keychain lights at the Dollar Tree which were more dependable! Of course, they are $1.00!!!!!!!!!

That was one of the first things i was told when i got mine. The light on the key is worthless. At some point if i get spare time, and am bored enough, id be tempted to swap in an led. However thats so low on the list i doubt it'll ever happen
