Default LED Headlights for '95 XJS V12 Convertible

We got my friends '95 XJS V12 convertible mostly sorted and running well, would like to upgrade the stock headlamp bulbs. Read through the many posts here, checked out some vendor offerings, leaning towards getting these:

Anyone have experience with this product and this company? Is it a straight forward plug and play installation? Are the optional Warning Canceller Capacitors necessary?

Thanks,

UPDATE: some YouTube reviews are not very favorable towards the HE product.

This review compared 25 brands:

It determined that these were the best built and brightest:

Thoughts?

Damn $300 for the bulbs? I think for that much I can hire someone to sit shotgun and point a spotlight where I want?

Does seem a bit extreme.

I'll price out the review's second tier selections, may end up just getting a better halogen for now.

Suggestions welcome.

I've been talking to Gil (the owner of the business) a number of times recently. very helpful and knowledgeable guy. I am due to fit his rear / brake light led kit on my facelift as it includes the bits necessary to fool the bulb failure circuit.

Not sure about the headlights yet as they are currently illegal for 89-onwards XJSs in the UK, and the MoT stations have been told to fail cars with them fitted.

Those were at the top of my list, close to $200 USD, and who knows how long for shipping.

Ended up getting these for now:

Amazon Amazon

Hopefully they will be sufficient for any required nighttime driving.

I use the Philips Xtreme Vision +130% bulbs (which seem similar to the above) in my XJS and other cars. Quite significant improvement over standard bulbs.

Here’s a comparison between the halogen and LED. The car sits so low, aiming them was simple. No glare or blinding oncoming traffic.

I installed a brand name called Lucas out of all names... Visibility has been improved dramatically. They see me, and I see them.

From what I can tell, the additional 20% improvement with the Phillips bulbs is a recent development. Price was similar, figured why not?

Is that comparison vs the stock halogen bulb or some "improved" bulb?

Which Lucas lighting series did you get, and was it straightforward plug and play installation? Any issues?

Yes, that’s a comparison between a stock halogen and LED. I had a set of spare Headlight retainers and dremeled out the centers a bit so that the square led housing would fit through. That’s the only modification. Im using the L2 series. Im considering switching to sealed beam headlamp mounts and add in a set of sealed beam look LED’s. Factory will always be desirable when collectors start to look at our cars with the same type of scrutiny others super cars get. So everything is and has to be reversible.
