Locked out . more info please
Hi , posted a thread here a few days ago but didn't get much feedback but thanks anyway to the two replies I did get.
Basically I've locked myself out of my 1993 XJS convertible, key fobs had ceased working and was using key in door to open up no problem, locked the car this way , alarm chirped and warning light is flashing inside but now no locks including the boot/trunk respond to key . Ive tried innumerable times to get them to respond but absolutely zilch. The car is connected to an intelligent trickle charger and the battery is new so there is plenty of power there but I am getting no response both door locker solid an boot /trunk key turns but nothing happens , can anyone give me some idea what may be going on here and if I can manage to get onto the internal door lock handle and pull it via a wire or flat metal strip are the locks likely to open. I assume I can't re-programme the fobs without being able to get to the ignition switch?
I'm completely at a loss what to do and don't understand what could have happened to get this situation . Thanks very much.

Not sure on a 1993.
On the earlier cars, remove the drivers door mirror, 2 screws, CAREFULLY lift the miror away from the door, look through the hole in the door, and you can see the backside of the remote handle, reach in with a screwdriver and simply flip the arm, you be in.

Later cars usually have a neoprene shroud inside the door protecting the door mirror wiring plugs. You may need to carefully move that away. If you disconnect the wiring plugs, first carefully attach a piece of string to them and leave it outside as it can be a bugger to get to the plugs if they drop inside the door!
Also, if you have a Tibbes door key on your 93, I'd still be minded to try and gently exercise it inside either door lock to try and stimulate the release.
Good luck

I’d recommend calling in a locksmith.
using a coat hanger to unlock the door is pretty straightforward for the car, if you know what you’re doing. It’s a Rube Goldberg set of rods and plastic pieces that control the door locks, but if you’ve been in the door cavity, it starts to make sense…
Anyways, a locksmith should be able to pull the right metal rod to unlock the door.

Have you put new a battery in the fobs ? If so, try disconnecting the car battery wait a few seconds then reconnect it. The alarm should beep and after every beep (5) press a fob. If 2 fobs press 1 4 times. This should set up the fobs to work.
