I still need to do a final application of heat setting liquid vinyl on the dash hole repair, using graining paper, and also apply some liquid vinyl with graining paper on the two seams below the door. Also finish gluing down the new liner material at the edges, but at least it doesn't look like hillbilly owns the car (except for the hood), anymore.

What exactly is graining paper?

 

Special paper available in different textures/patterns.

You place it on the liquid vinyl and apply heat from an iron of some type, it imprints the pattern into the vinyl as it solidifies.

Look up vinyl pros liquid vinyl, they have several vids of the process. or more generically how to apply grain texture to vinyl repair.
