Shown below is the engine the XJ200 should have had.
Looks aside...I never understood the appeal of the XJ220. By all accounts it's not a great car and was quickly eclipsed but the Mclarren F1 which by all accounts is a good car and actually had the V12 that the XJ220 was promised to have. It was DQ'd at LaMans for impropper equipment so it's racing career was controversial and too short to matter. As with most things Jag it was a tremendous missed oppertunity, somehow they couldn't get the weight down so the V12 got ditched for a Turbo v6. Even so it still tipped the scales at more than 3200LBS. I've seen privateeers get the XJS with an inline 6 race cars well under 3000 Lbs. McLaren managed to get the F1 with it's BMW v12 to be 700 Lbs lower in weight that the Xj220. All said and done... all of that technology was for naught as the V6 for better or worse, never found it's way to any of Jag's road cars. For McLaren it did help BMW temendoucly as it was widley known the a BMW v12 powered the F1. Imagine what could have been for Jag if the Xj200 had a turbo version of the 3.6 AJ6 and if that motor technology found it way into an XJS-R220 road car.
The predessor the XJR9 was a more intesting and compelling car, imagine if the back of the XJ200 looked like this and they spent a year or two on weight reduction. I can imagine any of the suckers that bought an Xj200 in the free money crypto / covid era will be left holding the bag as their value just wont be there especially if Jag continues on like it has recently.

I agree 100%, and I think that was the beginning of the demise of Jaguar's exceptional line of cars.
As far as F1 I miss the sound of v12 at full chat.
Now it's just noise with no point, just like the presenters.
I was watching the IMSA race at VIR and realized I hate all motorsports except vintage racing.
Won't expect any coverage of the Monterey races if any.
Lat year was atrocious.
