Default Nardi Steering Wheel - horn wiring?

Those who have installed a Nardi wheel, how did you wire the horn? The Nardi button works differently from the factory setup, I need to find a way to complete the circuit.

IIRC, it is very simple, the horn button just closes to ground.

The factory horn pad has a contact on the back that contacts the brass rod that is slid own the centre of the steering column completing the circuit and activating the horn.

based on your pic, do I simply run a wire down through the column in place of the factory rod?

i have a few ideas that would work but would prefer to avoid reinventing the wheel if others have a simple solution.

I believe that I simply ran the red wire shown in the photo through the column to the (PB) wire.

Caveat, this was over 20 years ago so I'm going off fuzzy memory. I don't remember a brass rod, but it's possible. My car had the big Airbag wheel so it might have been different.

I think i see what i am missing. The hub and steering wheel were both used, looks like the hub/button originally came with a wire.

easy enough to recreate, just have to figure out where it connects at the steering column.
