Plastic or metal? And approx what size?

From vague memory (I used to have an '88 XJS) the 'fuel interface unit" was in that location. It takes info from the ECU and translates it into a language the trip computer can use

Later in in 1988 model year.....VIN 142xxx or so....the speedometer speed sensor was moved to the differential. This required the use of a 'speedometer interface unit' that was also located in the trunk, LH side.

Other will chime in

Cheers

Default re

if i remember right it was metal and just few inches by few inches in size, the wires that plug into it are individual wires its not a wiring harnes . the last 6 of my vin number is 145123.. from what i can find in the electrical diagrams online and in my books, it would appear that its the abs ecu but i really dont think thats right and when i look up a abs ecu it looks similiar but has a spot to plug in a harness with multiple wires, but like i said mine hooks up from single wires... thanks a bunch , i appreciate the reply
