No oil flow after rebuild xjs v12
I have been rebuilding a 1983 jaguar xjs v12 for the last 4 years.
Now I have refitted the rebuilt engine and can't get oll pressure, no oil flow at all,
Tried back filling through the oil pressure sender but to no avail
Can anyone help?

There was a post I saw not too long ago, few days maybe, that had the same issue. I think that problem ended up being the oil pump was just full of air and couldnt get started. I dont know if this is the same for you but if a freshly rebuilt engine was installed and it doesnt make pressure I'd say air in the pump. An expert will be along shortly. I don't know much.
EDIT: Found what the other guy did.
I took the oil cooler line and fitting off of the front of the upper oil pan (also called a sandwich plate), and used a gear oil pump attached to a quart of oil to squirt oil up into the pump's intake. Then using a traebon gun (basically a grease gun for liquids), I pumped two quarts into the engine's oil galleys and pump through the idiot light switch hole in the tower at the back of the block. Now the light goes out immediately upon beginning cranking.

Some assuming on my part:
Oil filter was pre filled?
At least 2ltrs, maybe more, pumped in via the oil switch pedestal? That crankshaft will take nearly that to fill up.
The o/rings on the suction and supply pipes AT the pump are intact and the correct spec.
The pump drive dog on the crank snout is seated and meshed properly. Pretty hard to screw that up, but I have dealt with one in 40 years or more. The woodruff key of that drive is intact, again, it either there or it aint.
That all I can think of at 2 coffees down.

One more.
The oil cooler, either by pass or full flow will need at least another 2 ltrs to fill it.
Full flow, no idea, we never had them until much later, and I refused to have an ABS car, thank goodness now.
By pass I usually do via the pipe at the filter head, messy as hell, but doable.

Hi All
Solved the oil pump not priming issue. I put approx 20 litres of oil into the engine and lifted the rear of the car up to about 30 degrees. I then left it for 24 hours and then dropped the car back to level and ran engine without spark plugs and job done. Oil light out on starter and 50 lb pressure. 😊 Thanks for the help and guidance.
