Hi all.
Just bought 95 xjs from FL with 57K on the clock. While driving back to PA I saw that when at idle the gauge would show about 10 lbs. But when driving the gauge shows around 40 lbs. Is it normal to show that low of a pressure at 750revs?

No worries IMHO. Not low enough to cause a problem.

Rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm when warm

My '96 4.0 does that too. The 750 idle speed is supposed to be 600 though, if this a 4.0.

That's not 40psi its showing, its 4 bar pressure (assuming US gauges are the same as UK). 4 bar pressure is 58psi. If so, that's fine. XJS 4 litre oil pressure is 2.75 bar at 2000rpm.
