Default one sexy XJS!!!

I finally got my XJS back from the body shop and finally got to work on getting my special details started!!
I installed the interior mood lighting and it's HOTTTT
Amber floor lighting, and a ski slope amber light as well. Photo is hard to get.
BUT the rear tail lights are FIERCE!! I added the side lit led red strips to the inside of the tail lights and they look AMAZING!!!!!
I'm swapping the old center cluster bulbs for the LED blue lights, removing the green covers. Let's hope they are equally amazing!!
Check out my album to see photos

I've tried to add photos to this thread but they have to be on a url!
So check out my XJS photos on my garage photos. I've changed the headlights to EURO and added led strips to the inside of the bezel trims. THey reflect inside the headlamp and look as if they are inside. Haven't photographed the headlights yet.
The tail lights are sooooo cool!!!! and the interior is really amazing at night. I simply wired to the cigar lighter bulb.
The tail lights, I wired to the parking light bulbs, leaving the factory bulbs as well. SOOO easy. and SOOOO modern!! Totally looks like they came that way!!!!

@phil

Thanks for sharing! The tail lights are great. I have a facelift car so the tailights are the thinner blacked out type. They really don't give out much light so I've been thinking about changing to LED actually more for safety and visibility than looks. Are your LEDs on as brake lights ? or are they 2 stage brightness for tailight and brake light ?

I am really not a "mod" type of guy speacially on these older cars because I think it looks tasteless on something that has that specific of a character, but I have to say it looks pretty good. I am biased against the US-only quads anyway, and the tail lights look pretty fierce indeed. Good job on doing subtle touches to the car without making it look like a souped civic. Just know when to stop though

As well documented, I am not a fan of tarting up these cars. Must say that the halos, and interior lighting are well done. Just need a vintage Alpine head unit with the classic square green buttons to finish off the look.

Gotta pass on the tail light mods.

Bravo for experimenting and sharing the results - thank you!

I tend to push the limits with my cars. LOVE to make sure mine are totally unique in a sea of others.
The halo quads are actually gone in favour of the Euro headlamps, I did change the old 80's driving lights for a more subtle set.
For the most part, I've tried to make everything reversable as I tend to rethink things from time to time. I knew some people wouldn't like the tail lights but They're actually subtle in person and when braking, that light over rides the led strips.
Other than that, the care is so clean, I did add the gold leaper on bonnet, gold growler cener caps on wheels, side wing badges with gold leapers, and I used the gold bonnet growler on rear boot lid. Thought about factory style gold coach stripes but as I said, I'm loving it sleek and clean!!

Mine are actually simply parking lights. They stay on and the brake bulb "over rides" them.
My friend has a facelift 95 and were going to try the same thing on hers. I have ordered super bright led bulbs for her brake lights as well they are definitely brighter.

Some forum guru or mod please post some pics of the OP's modifications in the thread? It really is useless without them.

Thanks in advance.

These are the park lights. The new hyper white headlamp bulbs are too bright to photograph!

THe interior lighting is very hard to photograph. I'll work on more photo's. Having new JVC touch screen single din audio installed today.

Success! I've mastered photobucket!! LOL
More photos to come!!

Lord have mercy - I hope your JVC head unit doesn't have Donkey Kong or a similarly obnoxious EQ display marring the serenity of the cabin.

It's hard to beat Nakamichi or vintage Alpine for understated class.

Thanks for posting the pics in the thread!

No, the audio is basically a Black flat screen and I'm changing the screen to an simple touch panel. It came with a screensaver of a winding road. It was a bit smaller so I have to add 1/4 inch caps on both sides since the wood fascia doesn't quite cover it.
It's an amazing system and works well with the factory speakers.
I'm not much on keeping a car factory for factory sake. I want the modern features where I can intigrate with little change to the classic auto.
Ad frankly, any lighting improvements on the xjs is a welcome thing!!
