Don't install another fan. 4 litre XJS don't overheat even in parades. There is a problem somewhere, either in the rad, as mentioned, or in the fan. You just need to work out where is the problem. Have you looked at the cooling fins and the space in front of the rad, as has been suggested? Pull the rad out, examine it carefully, fully flush it, and if you're fan is working correctly, you'll be fine.

If you’re getting a full rotation, replace the clutch. Even if it’s close to a full rotation.
