Default part identification

Hi folks.

Can anyone verify that the shown parts are from a late XJS?

Thanks for your help!

Sean

It looks right, could also be from XJ40. The. XJ40 hubs fit the XJS with inboard brakes. With a few exceptions.

The outer fulcrum shaft is smaller requiring the LCAs. To be bushed, handbrake is different. There are spaces where the IB disks would be.

I think you may have made a slip. Shouldn't it be that the XJ40 rear hubs fit XJSs with OUTboard brakes?

No the XJ40 hubs fit the XJS with inboard brakes with the mods listed. The XJ40 hubs looks the same as the hubs in XJS ROM for OB brakes.

I have an XJ40 rear end and the Hubs, driveshafts etc fit my car with minimal mods. Down the track I will convert to OB brakes.

That's interesting. Thanks for the info. So if I have got this straight now, you can convert to outboard brakes on an HE by fitting a couple of XJ40 hubs, with spacers to allow for the inboard discs' width, and lower fulcrum shaft bushes to allow for the narrower hub casting?

Does the XJ40 handbrake (and drum if it uses one) all come as part of the outboard brake caliper and hub from an XJ40?

The XJS. LCAs. Need to be drilled and bushed for the outer fulcrum shaft, you can also add rear toe adjustment as per the XJ40.

Handbrake needs modifying with XJS OB disk parts. There are 2 arms that attach to the inner fulcrum pivots about 40 50cm long and brackets that attach where the calipers would be that hold the cables to the wheels.

The XJ40 has the spaces which Cambridge used, I havent installed it in the car I did install the hubs in the LCAs. To see what was needed. It is possible with a little fabrication for hanbrake.

The casting number is:
CAC 9483 P
SG 2

I've tried searching the internet for references to that ID and haven't come up with anything. Is there a standard resource that lists these numbers? Or does somebody have a spare that they can look at to confirm?

I don't have a use for the parts. I just hate to send good components to the recycler. Are there enough of these parts available? Should I just scrap them?

The casting numbers on the ones I have are CCC 3984 and 5 and these were definitely off an XJ40. What the ID of the fulcrum shaft sleeve? These could be off an XJS if so some here could be interested in OB conversion
