Please help! No chrome on bumper 1990?
[QUOTE=briansherman;2433795] . . . just stay away entirely (I have no mechanical experience at all).
Plus 1 on what Doug said. You either have to do your own work or have VERY deep pockets as well as access to a mechanic that knows these cars.

Late as usual.
That mileage scares me a lot.
The mention of brake calipers and ABS issues scares me more.
A 30 year old ANYTHING, will need heaps, as said, and also as said, if you will not be, or cannot, do nearly all of it, the bill will be more than you paid for it. The "while I am in here" is going to haunt that car.
Have a read of my Sticky at the top of this section "Worksheet that may..........".
I got more of those if you want them.
Like Doug, I do all my own, NO ONE touched my Jags. "If I cannot fix it, it is not broken" always applied since 1968.
I also think those bumpers look "tacked on", or its the angle of the dangle, dunno.

Someone spent a lot of money fitting those bumpers and side skirts, Unlike for the rest of us, the US kits had to have the 5MPH crash bumpers go through the spoiler kit.
As has been said a few owners have removed the large look by drilling a hole in the shock absorber.
They have also done a good job on the fixing to the car. It looks in the pictures that they haven't fitted the spoiler into the bodywork . Would make it easier to remove if so....
Ive had a kit like that sitting in my garage for a few years now. Just been wondering how to fit it so it can be removed again when l want to.

As Paul mentions above, it has the special US-spec JaguarSport XJR-S body kit, and also the Speedline alloys that came from TWR/JaguarSport. Another example of a rare Us-spec JaguarSport XJR-S car with this body kit is here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-jaguar-xjr-s/.
JaguarSport also sold the body kit and wheels separately, allowing one to turn their non-XJR-S car into an external clone of an XJR-S car, as can be seen in this brochure: https://www.ebay.com/itm/233799484825.
Nowadays, those wheels are worth about $600 used—same with the body kit.

I saw the ad and wondered if this car was ordered with minimal TWR upgrades (body kit and the 15" speedline wheels in this case). Those XJ-S's heading to the TWR shop were sent without a coachline, like this one. Otherwise I'd want to know what happened to the factory stripe.
The seller also misidentifies the car as a 1992 in the ad.

That is definitely, no doubt, a TWR body kit that includes front and rear bumper covers and the rocker covers. Anyone buying an XJ-S could have a variety of add ons just like Ford did with Shelby. There was a menu you could choose from.
As the car is a 1990, if the bodykit was fitted when the car was ordered new, it'll be supplied by JaguarSport rather than TWR. TWR as a company stopped selling Jaguar aftermaket when the JaguarSport company was formed in 1988. The Speedline wheels will have a JaguarSport centre disc if they were supplied after 1988. If they have TWR discs, the wheels are older than 1988.

Those are known as bottle cap wheels and were part of the TWR menu list too. I have bought 89's with the full body kit and other TWR upgrades on them. Jaguar Sport may have sold them but they were TWR created.
"Jaguar Sport" (two separate words) was the brand name that TWR used to market their Jaguar enhancement offerings between 1984 & 1988. Their brochure uses the name "TWR Jaguar Sport" After June 1988, when the XJR-S was launched, "TWR" didn't exist as a company to manufacture or sell Jaguar enhancements for the XJS, XJ40 & Series III models. A new company had been formed called JaguarSport (one word) owned 50:50 between TWR and Jaguar.. All enhancement components for the mainstream models were manufactured and sold by JaguarSport after June 1988. I guess there may have been a few bits of TWR-branded stock left after that date but I don't know if they were allowed to be sold off.

The original body kit eliminated the aluminum bumper bars and was a closed bumper cover. Later bumper covers had the openings to accommodate the aluminum bumper bar and rubber cover. I bought the last known new old stock TWR/JaguarSport front bumper cover some five or six years ago.
Hello BrianSherman and everyone.
I am very new to posting here, hope I can do it right. I have owned a 1992 XJS V12 Jaguar{red} for many years now. It was through a Car Soup online ads in Minneapolis Minnesota. At the time about 2003, there were many at different prices. This one stood out in the ads, you just know which one when you see a favorite. It was around $7200.00, belonged to a highway patrol. His records were good and the only thing wrong was a small scratch on the passenger door. I will have to look at the odometer but average mileage.
The Jag you are looking at is beautiful. I haven't added a picture yet and took one today of the front of the car. Not sure how to do this yet. Hope this helps.
