Default PnPlay replacment V12 Lucas/Opus HE/pre-HE EFI sys in devel by Moebeck Tekniske

Just sharing from my Facebook news feed:
Facebook Post
www facebook com/MobeckTekniske/posts/2799567780101617

I can't answer any questions about it.. those would have to go to the developers who still seem to be working out pricing and a few options.

What I know: It's meant for pre-HE and Lucas HE systems replacing the fuel injectors w/ new ones (ethanol friendly hoses), eliminating many vacuum lines, replacing the AAV and any supplementary controlled air leaks with one electronically controlled valve, and replaces the ignition amp.

Hopefully sharing this isn't going to bombard them w/ more interest than they can handle at this point. I get the impression this is at the edge of being available. - and an XJS looking control box in the works too..

I was quoted several thousand dollars to replace my car's system with a modern coil on plug setup, ecu to run 12 cylinders etc. Wasn't worth it at the time.

This is great news and something badly needed.

well you guys know me??? LOL.
my system is older SDSEFI.com, but it works great for my needs! fully adjustable!
i really like the workmanship MObeck,, altho i prefer injectors with top and bottom O-rings for a positive seal(course custom fuel rails, made from old bathroom hand rails), cost 12. dollars in rcycle yard!
the AEROquip fuel lines are pricey but look nice!
HEY i wish the guy anything he does, good luck!
NOW HOW MUCH USD?
ron

fuel rails etc!
sorry this pic is also on another thread! dont shoot the messenger!

There can't be that many pre HE cars still on the road any more? Must be a very limited market for this.

For a drop in system where all the development has been done it's actually a fairly economical system. I've done a Megasquirt system and the parts were at least $2K when it's all said and done, plus a huge amount of time programming and tuning the system.

I think he's developed this off of a Lucas HE XJ12 (which is easier to wire), but he has said he has a pre-HE map available. Clearly some things are still to be worked out... We'll see how the market fairs. I hope Roger keeps going for a long time, but at some point the old ECUs may become irreparable.

The price is ... definitely full on retail, but I'm glad this is available... and I think it's aimed at being simple like for your home mechanic to install... it's not intended to replace the dedicated DIYer's Megasquirt efforts - for which we have no V12 kit anyway.

I know the injectors are new Bosch units, and that's one factor in cost. Also.. I'm taking a stab here because I haven't asked.. although the ECU box is custom, he's indicated he's used the DTAFast S80 ECU in V12 projects before, so my guess is that might be the underlying tech here and would account for another $1400USD+ retail in the price -depending on markup-:

........................thats something to buy in the car, a great example of how $5.5k spent on a car does not add $5.5k to the value of the car.

l wonder how much money was spent on the ECU box shaped like the front end of a XJ12 vanity project? lts very clever, but a bit pointless.

Only Ron with his unparalleled capacity for selectivity stupid could use this quote in this context.

3D printing is not expensive, and making a special shape is free except from the hours spent designing it

The guy replied to my email, HE Digital P units will be ready in two months, then a Pre-HE (d jetronic?) unit for older cars. He says he doesn't have any other vehicles to work from but if he 'got to know' the marelli system it would be no difficulty to make a unit for newer cars.

If he can replicate the OEM drivability then it's probably worth it. I did Megasquirt to a 1966 S Type and spent 8 years tuning it each summer. I've come to the conclusion that I need to design a new intake manifold, because things were simply not repeatable. I could see the air fuel ratio at idle, turn the car off and back on and the AFR was different. It's impossible to tune when nothing is repeatable or consistent.

!

YES tuning some of the standalone ECUs and getting sensors adjusted for applications!,,
Tedious is not for the faint of heart, you definatlty need an ear and feel for tuning!
truth i have had mine for 25yrs , and i still tweak it sometimes! also had ECU upgraded by SDS owner himself 3times as tech advanced,(at NO charge)!
but he finally sold company and retired,! they are open for business but someone said they dropped V12 stuff,, donno?
