Default Radiator Bleeding: Old Faithful Gushing Green

I followed Doug's bleeding procedure and when I started her after filling (all caps and bleed screw off), she was immediately gushing green from the filler tube. Got all over the engine compartment. This is scary with all those crispy wires and electrical parts everywhere...I cut the engine.

Is this normal and should I simply proceed as planned, letting her gush till she's done gushing... ?

Thank you!

If it's gushing THAT badly out of the filler tube go ahead and drain some coolant off and re-bleed. yeah, you don't wanna absolutely flood the engine with coolant.

Did get a good flow out of the bleeder before you clossed it off?

Cheers

Think I got it done. I topped and capped the main and bleeder and started her. Then I topped the side tube for a few minutes, then capped.....then as water came gushing through the bleeder, I put the screw back in.

It really sucks because I have that XJS CD ROM with all the info and it's not working on my XP computer. I'm certain it lists this quirky procedure in there somewhere...
