Default Radius arm not lining up

See video below; reattached the radius arm by the small bushing end first. Now the large end won’t line up with the mounting nub. Should the large end be attached first, then the small end?

Compress the suspension with the weight of the car and and get the rear suspension at ride height . Then it will slip right on enough to bolt up.

I half-tried that and the inner ring in the large bushing was making solid contact with the mount, so much so that it wouldn't slip, but just distorted the rubber until I lifted the car back up. I was afraid to put any more weight on it.

Hi MrAndersonGCC

I had exactly the same problem when refitting the Cage to '50 Shades' my Grey XJS

Basically what I did was to Chock the Front Wheels, so that She couldn't Roll Forward and then I put the Back Wheel on the side where the Trailing Arm wouldn't go back and then put a Chock under the Back Wheel

Not right in the middle but a little bit Aft of the Middle of the Tyre, where the Plan was to lower the Jack down so the Back wheel would try and Roll Forward and in doing so move the Trailing arm Forward

Except I never got around to lowering the Wheel down that evening (maybe it was too dark to see what I was doing) so I decided to leave it until the Following day but during the Night the Jack lost pressure and went down on its own!

Where to my Amazement it was Perfectly Lined Up!

That's a clever idea, I'll give that a go. Thanks!

I just got it sort of close (well lubricated of course), and then put a bottle jack under the big end and lifted.
Soon enough it gave up resistance and popped into place as it should.
