Hi Robbo

I'm with LnrB on this one, as it doesn't look as if the Bolt that goes into the 'Spigot' has been done up tight enough to pull the Arm up

As for starters the 'Lockwire' is missing and so it could be possible that the 'Spigot Bolt' has started to undo itself, so might be worth checking the Torque as LnrB has suggested

I've also Checked mine and the Triangles are on Top

Hi OB.
Bolt was tight and definitely hasn’t loosened. I didn’t use lock wire but did use thread lock when the bolts were torqued up. As Greg has said it’s the crap quality of the bushes that were fitted. Metalastic going in as soo as they arrive.
Rob.
p.s not sure if lock wire is really needed these days as long as a good quality thread lock is used as needed.

Hi Robbo

Something that hasn't been mentioned that could be the cause of the problem

Having Bolted the Big Rubber Bush to the Spigot (with Triangles on Top) The Bolt that goes through the Small Rubber Bush at the other end of the Arm, should NOT be done up till the Radius Arm has the Full Weight of the Car on top of it

Just wondering if that may possibly have happened in this case

Hi OB.
I have ordered the new genuine bushes from local Jag dealer so will be collecting tomorrow and my local garage is going to press the new bushes into the arms. Noted about the small bush bolt when I put it all back together tomorrow.

New bushes fitted to the arms. Quality is so much better with the genuine parts.

Car is all back together. As always doing a job uncovers another job that needs doing. This time a weird one. I thought while that car was in bits I would make sure the exhaust was sitting in the correct position and while checking the exhaust mounts for the over axel pipes I found a couple of holes in the pipe. The exhaust is stainless so not rusted just two holes witch look to me like the metal had cracked when the pipe was formed. I checked the other side and found the same again. I patched the pipes so all is now well. Oh what fun.
