Maybe you mean the rear brakes, when they were relocated to the outboard position?

I have a feeling that the later models were fitted with fully floating calipers (ie only pistons one side, and the other side, on a slider system, is pulled in by the action of the piston).

These calipers are cheaper to make and more reliable with fewer pistons and seals.

Default Ah Ha

I thought so cause I saw some pads avertised on ebay and they looked (modern). The type where you must REMOVE the caliper to change them. As far as I'm concerned this is a step back from a simple change. Bud

If JDHT is to be beleived, the front brakes remained the same old 4-piston, fixed caliper design even after the rear brakes were moved outboard (and went to a floating caliper design)

Take a peek here and note the VIN range includes even the last models...

Yeah, you gotta be careful and know exactly what you're looking for.

Sometimes you'll see the same catalog/parts listing error on several different webpages/vendor listings.

I suspect some of this goes back quite a few years when parts suppliers transitioned from paper catalogs to electronic catalogs and some stuff got lost in the translation....and never corrected unless the error concerned high volume parts.

Of course the odd parts listing errors have been around since....well...forever.

Cheers
