Default rear end

Is the rear end the same on a 1995 Xjs 4.0 as a 1997 xj6 4.0??

No, they are completely different designs

Why do you ask? some parts are interchangeable like diff internals, you can use to convert XJS to OB brakes

1995 XJS already has OB brakes, they changed them in the 94MY

I'm pick I g up a 95 coupe parts car , for the interior . To use on my 90 conv. Wondered if the rear shocks would fit my 97 xj6 .

They won't fit; totally different suspension designs.

Whoa, the SIII XJ6 and XJS diff internals are the same as some of the later Jaguar diff internals? I never knew that - wish I would have. That seems like a very inexpensive way to get direct swap-out internals!!!

Yep I have X300 internals in my original XJS diff 3.58 and LSD hemisphere

I realise that I was referring to the fact (and not very well I might add) that the driveshafts etc are interchangeable although the universals are different
