Default Rear shock/tow link nut size

Does anyone know the size of the nut that holds onto the bottom of the rear shocks? I came up with part # NY607041J but this wasn't in a diagram, so I wasn't sure.

Typically searching part numbers eventually leads me to a site that will actually give specifications, but no dice this time. Thanks

These are the nuts holding the rod the shocks are attached to I think? For some unknown reason one end has an 11/16ths A/F nut and the other has a 5/8ths A/F. As I expect you already know, the rod can be withdrawn forwards only, as the bracer plate thingy on the rear end has a hole too small for the rod to be driven out rearwards. The actual threads each end of the rod are identical and have UNF threads.

You aren't sure which is which though? I suppose a quick diameter measurement could determine which the bigger is.

The strap isn't attached on the XJ6 I just got, the nut (rearmost) is missing.

7/16"?? Really? It looks way bigger than that at a glance.

That refers to the thread size, not the nut A/F size.
