Smile Removing my gas tank...How do I?

get my gas cap free from my 91 xjs convertible tank inlet tube? I don't want to break anything but it's in there pretty tight. Yes the bolts and clamps have been removed. I used a mini pry bar but it's coming up VERY slowly. I've got to seal the tank (typical), but it ain't coming out until the gas cap is out! Has anyone done this already that can give me some tips? WD? Thanks for any help. Bud

You ahve my sympathy. These are an absolute devil to get loose. Get an oil filter strap wrench and use that on the fitting. You have to undo various small fixings inside and also some large jubulee clips first. then just wind the strap round the fitting inside the fuel flap.

Looks like this:DRAPER 300MM CAPACITY OIL FILTER STRAP WRENCH | eBay
