Default Replacing Blue Hella Relays

I still have functioning blue Hella relays on my 1996 XJS. I believe there are 11 of them in all.

Any recommendations on replacements? Following replacement part numbers I end up with URO relays...not sure there isn't a better way.

Would love to know what others might have used.

Thanks.

Hi Vee - If they're still functioning why do you want to replace them? Just curious as I'll be adding some relays to mine and had planned on using the same blue relays. Mainly because I can get them for free.

I have bought Panasonic relays off Digikey. There is nothing special about them, they are standard automotive 30 amp relays. Just match up the pin numbers and layout and you're good. Some have a centre 87A terminal and some don't.

I've also used Ford relays I got at the junkyard. They also work.

See Post 4.

I can either do them now, or wait for something to go wrong

"I can either do them now, or wait for something to go wrong"

I kind of see your point but that logic could be applied to anything in the car.
I follow the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach.
However, I do believe in keeping some spare parts handy.
Like I have new belts and a CPS in the trunk along with a small tool kit and thinking about it I'll be adding a couple of relays.

If you want reliability, planned maintenance and replacement is paramount.

As they say in the airine industry, "If something happens, there are no laybys at 38,000 feet"
