Default Replacing injectors/hoses

88 H&E. Getting rid of all the old rubber in a friends XJS. Ordered new injectors with hoses in place from Standard Motor Products and have a few questions.

First, all 12 hoses are the same length. Don't 1A and 1B need to be longer? It appears obvious to me, and all my searching says that, the first two are different but every source I see has 12 the same length.

Second, the end that seats in the engine is bare steel, no pintle cap/filter. There is an O-ring above. Is this correct? There was no option for an injector seal kit or install kit.

Thanks Gents

Isn't this the type that should be fitted to an HE?

If Two of the Hoses in the Kit are too Short, why not buy a length of Gates Hose of the Correct Spec and then just Cut it to the Length required

Yes, two injectors should have a longer hose. If you want to order the longer hose version from Standard via RockAuto the part number is FJ7. The short hose is FJ634. If you already bought all FJ7s then you can just cut 10 of them down…. Appears the FJ7 is oddly cheaper!

There absolutely should be a pintle cap. If you have not received the injectors yet, I bet there is a pintle cap and you’re seeing a stock photo online without the cap. But if they arrive without a pintle cap… you need them.

For o-rings alone, you should replace both the smaller bottom seal, and the larger upper seal. Standard SK10 is a 6 pack of each, get two.

If you need pintle caps they will be tough to find solo. The best price I could find you is here: https://injector-rehab.com/product/h...or-rebuild-kit. In which care, dont’ order SK10 because you’ve got that covered.

You could also try https://www.jaguarfuelinjectorservice.com which is run by a great guy. You will need him anyway because I think he’s one of the few sources left for EAC7876 which are those little rings around the top of the hoses. I don’t think they are just cosmetic! Some disagree.

Good luck!
