Default Replacing rear bumper side lights

How does one access the side lights mounted on the rear bumper to replace the bulbs. I assume these are lights and not just reflectors as the front bumpers on the facelift cars have them.

I don’t think you’re going to click the thanks button for this response...but I think you’re gonna have to take the bumper cover off....

Thanks anyway... No wonder they're both out. They were both out when I bought the car last year.

They’re not lit...at least in this country. They can be, but it would take some wiring abilities.

They're not?? I'm getting a bulb out indication on the dash and no other lights are out. I just replaced the two front bumper side lights and the left mini internal parking light in the headlamp housing. I thought I had seen one of the rear bumper side lamps lit one night. Maybe my imagination. I thought they're supposed to be lit. I could be wrong. There are no other side lights in the rear and the rears don't wrap around enough to light up to be side lights. Hmmm.

They most certainly are lit in the USA and they do have a bulb....Don't they just push in ? Do you have the owners manual ?

I do have the owners manual. I didn't think to look there as most owners manuals aren't technical or show you how to actually replace something. I'll have to take another look at the manual.
I can see a seal around the red lens between it and the bumper but can't see how I'd have to push, pull or twist the lens to get at the bulb from the outside. Seems like everything is accessed from behind. Now why would they do that! x%##! (don't answer that).

I’m so sorry, they do indeed light up. I got mixed up with making them light when you use your turn signal...that they don’t do.

They are indeed accessible from the little trap doors in the trunk. You turn them 90degrees and pull them out. It’s a pretty standard bulb in there, I used Sylvania 2825

Thanks for that confirmation. I will need to find the little access doors you speak about.
