Hi guys,
My reverse lights are not working. I have a Manual XJ-S from 1985 with the getrad gearbox. I have looked at the bulbs which seem ok, no power comes through to the bulbs when in reverse as tested with multi meter.

The number plate lights are working.
I understand there is a switch on the gearbox that activates the lights when placed in reverse. Where is this switch and how do I access it please?

Also check the fuse which is new and the instrument lights work which is also associated with this fuse.

This illustration suggests that it's on the left side of the transmission but, in any case, it'll probably be the only switch you'll see when you get underneath for a peek.
