Default Runs good but no timing mark visible

Went to check timing on my 87 coupe since I thought I heard some pinging during accel. I found the timing mark with the engine off, and scraped it with a pick to make it easy to see. Problem is, I can't see the mark anywhere when checking the timing.

I am hooked up to 1A and have looked at both 3000RPM and idle but the mark is not there. The car runs damn good so I can't imagine it's so out to lunch as to not be in the range of being visible. I have looked up both sides thinking I was just out of the scale, but it just isn't there.

Anyone see this before?

Oooopsie. Mark was there the whole time just couldn't see it. Put white crayon on it and I was 18 BTDC just like it should be.

Crisis averted.
