XJS 1990 5.3 V12 coupe. Please could anyone help with the wiring for the shift lock solenoid? I have downloaded all the wiring diagrams I can find but nowhere can I find any reference to it on any of these. Any help or pictures of your car wiring would be much appreciated

I had a fault in the starter circuit which burnt out some ground wiring but now cannot find how to reconnect this solenoid
not new to Jags but new here)

 

First cuppa coffee disclosure but I don't think your 1990 car has a shift interlock solenoid. The item you've circled in the picture looks like a reverse lamp switch to me.

Agreed Doug,

It's the reverse lamp switch. On Jaguar's parts website, it's visible on the page with the Selector linkage. The wire colours are shown on the wiring diagram.

Thanks that helps a lot, also thanks for prompt replies, knowing that there is no lock solenoid made me tug the shifter more firmly and it moved, it was just stuck through lack of use🙄
